Ateliers à l'Institut

On recommence, on arrête, on recommence... Espérons pour de bon cette fois-ci! Comme avant, les ateliers ont lieu tous les jeudis matin, à moins que mes enfants ou moi-même soyons malades, de 9h30 à 11h30, à l'Institut de Puériculture, 26 boulevard Brune, 14ème arrondissement (métro/tramway: Porte de Vanves).

Instructions pour la grippe A: veuillez venir avec votre propre porte-bébé, nous n'avons pas été autorisés à refaire du prêt, et lorsque ce sera le cas il sera en priorité pour les parents handicapés ou aveugles. Ne venez pas si vous ou votre bébé avez de la fièvre. Merci d'appeler la PMI pour réserver d'abord (voir leur site web).

Workshops at the Institut

Start and stop, start again... Let us hope for good this time! So as before, workshops are every Thursday morning, unless my children or myself are sick, from 9.30 to 11.30 a.m., at the Institut de Puericulture, 26 boulevard Brune, 14th arrondissement (metro/tramway: Porte de Vanves).

A flu instructions: please come with your own carrier, we have not been allowed to do loans yet, and when we do they will be for blind and handicapped parents in priority. And do not come if you or your baby have a temperature. You should phone the PMI to book first (see their website).

DVD pour parents sourds, inclut le portage

Comme je l'ai annoncé plus tôt cette année, j'ai pris part au tournage d'une séquence sur le portage pour un DVD qui enseigne les soins du bébé aux parents sourds. Le DVD vient juste de sortir et peut être commandé ici. Il utilise la LSF et les sous-titres.

DVD for deaf parents, includes babywearing

As I announced earlier this year, I took part in the shooting of a babywearing sequence for a DVD which teaches baby care to deaf parents. The DVD has just come out and can be ordered here. It uses subtitles and French Sign Language.

Le Monde a Ma Hauteur a son propre site

Enfin, je crée l'association officielle, Le Monde à Ma Hauteur. Son but est d'aider les parents dans toutes sortes de situations difficiles (naissance prématurée, grossesse adolescente, difficultés financières, handicap du parent ou du bébé) à développer un lien fort avec leur bébé par le portage et le peau-à-peau. Nous souhaitons promouvoir la parentalité proximale de façon générale.
L'association, bien que de manière officieuse, agit déjà depuis 18 mois et a offert le prêt d'un porte-bébé à beaucoup de parents et de structures (maternités, PMIs...). Nous ne pouvons faire cela que grâce à la générosité des parents qui nous offrent leurs porte-bébés ergonomiques inutilisés (écharpes, slings, poches, meitais, préformés etc), et des fabricants.

Le Monde a Ma Hauteur has its own website

At long last I am creating the official organization, Le Monde a Ma Hauteur, or "The World at My Height". Its purpose is to help parents in all kinds of difficult situations (premature birth, teenage pregnancy, financial difficulties, handicap of the parent or the baby) to have a strong bond with their baby through babywearing and skin-to-skin. We aim at promoting attachment parenting in general.
The organization, though unofficially, has been in action for 18 months already and has offered the loan of a baby carrier to many parents and structures (maternity units, mother-and-baby health care centers...). We can only do this thanks to the generosity of parents offering us their unused ergonomical carriers (wraps, slings, pouches, meitais, structured carriers etc), and manufacturers.
